Dentures are removable false teeth that can replace missing teeth and restore your smile. If you have lost all your natural teeth due to decay, injury, gum or any other oral disease, replacing your missing teeth can benefit your dental health and appearance. When you lose all your teeth, your facial muscles become saggy, making you look older. Dentures or partial dentures can help you restore your dental health. Dentures are made to closely resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance doesn’t change much.
There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. Your dental expert at North Island Dental Arts will review your dental condition and help you choose the type of denture that’s best for you.
Complete Dentures – Complete dentures are designed to function as a full set of teeth. They are made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed. Our dentures are customized to fit into your mouth comfortably and appear natural. Though we do offer fixed complete dentures (secured by dental implants) that remain in the mouth, you can also opt for removable dentures.
Partial Dentures – Partial dentures are used when several teeth are missing but some are still remaining. Just like complete dentures, you can opt to secure them with dental implants. Again, we also offer removable partial dentures which are not secured by implants.
