The Procedure

The procedure for placing the crown usually takes two appointments. In the first appointment, our dental expert will take highly accurate diagnostic models of your tooth to create your custom crown. A mold will also be taken to create a temporary crown that will be placed in your mouth until your new crown is fabricated. During the same appointment, your dentist will numb the tooth, remove the decay and prepare it for the crown.

During the second appointment, which is usually scheduled two weeks after the first appointment, the temporary crown is removed, and the final custom crown is added. At this point, the dentist will make any required adjustments to the crown and then permanently cement it in place.
